Parents long to provide a loving and peaceful home for their children.  Unfortunately, the stresses of modern-day life and unresolved issues from their past prevent them from being the calm parent they wish to be.  We help parents lower stress by giving them the tools they need to release old baggage, increase confidence, interact with their children in positive ways, effectively manage their emotions and teach their children to do the same.

Emmalou Penrod is a wife, mother, grandmother, retired schoolteacher, author, and owner of the business, Healing Your Families.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Special Education from Weber State University.  She also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
Emmalou ended her 24-year career as a teacher at a residential treatment facility for youth at risk.  Most of her career was spent as a special education teacher.  She saw a need to bridge the gap that is sometimes formed between parents and the public-school system.  She wrote the book, Navigating the Educational System, 5 Strategies to Get the Best for Your Child and started a podcast show, “In Support of Families” to provide useful information and support for parents.
She is a Show Host with WIN WIN Women Network, a monthly webinar presenter with Wise Family Group, and a member of Kaha Tahi Coaching.

Healing Your Families serves parents of faith who have school age children with special needs. We provide tools, coaching and support to help them achieve a calm peaceful home with effective communication and strong healthy, relationships so children can grow up to be responsible adults who are self-reliant and contribute to society.
We do this through a 5-step process, similar to a GPS.
  • Identify specific areas of family life needing improvement. (starting point)
  • Set specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound goals (destination)
  • Provide tools and training (shortest route)
  • Support with coaching and accountability (alternate routes and backup plans)
  • Celebrate success and give thanks to God (safe journey)
In these perilous times, we need to create homes that are safe havens from the storms and corruption of the world where children can be taught the truths of God’s word.
